About

Friesian Crazy was created by Kelsey Evans in 1999 as a reference and resource for Friesian horse enthusiasts.  At the time, Friesians were still relatively unknown and finding in-depth information about them online was difficult without delving into the nooks and crannies of the web for FPS rules and regulations.

Since that time Friesian Crazy has grown to offer popular community forums, news updates, product and business reviews, classifieds, and directories to other Friesian-y businesses and websites. Our goal of this, our latest edition of the FC website, is to allow Friesian Crazy to be a reliable reference and community space that any Friesian fan can visit in order to learn about and contribute to knowledge about this wonderful breed.

About Kelsey

Nope, not black and hairy! Annie learning to bow as a 4 year old.

Since the obsession began, many years ago, Kelsey has found a myriad of ways to fill her life with these black beauties, thanks in large part to the friendship of Friesian owners and trainers throughout the northeast. Over the last 10 years, she has had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the training of many Friesian youngsters, from the start of ground manners, riding and driving through keur prep from Maine horse trainer Jenny Wells of Seacoast Farm, and has learned aspects of breeding and foaling, as well as the everyday care and many details about driving from Adrienne St.Cyr of Celtic Cross Farm. Kelsey is an active volunteer in the Northeast Friesian Horse Club, serving as Club News Correspondent to affiliate publications. In 2009, as part of her senior thesis, Kelsey designed and administered a Friesian Health Survey to 2,000 Friesian owners to try to pinpoint the prevalence of health issues and management techniques in the breed.

Kelsey has a degree in Anthrozoology and currently lives in North-eastern Vermont with her husband and beautiful Morgan mare, Annie, who she wouldn’t trade for anything – not even a Friesian.
